We can't do it without you!
The Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus is dedicated to promoting harmony among all while advancing a positive image of gay people through outstanding musicianship, creative programming, and community outreach.
But, as a non-profit, we’ve only been able to have a huge impact on our community because of the thousands of donors, volunteers, sponsors, and other supporters who have been the lifeblood of this special organization since 2001. You play an important role in helping us achieve our vision. Ticket sales only cover about one-third of our operating expenses, while contributions cover the rest of our $100,000 annual operating budget.
DMGMC is incorporated in the state of Iowa as a nonprofit organization, and is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law (please consult your tax advisor). View our Form 990 here.
The Des Moines Gay Men's Chorus produces a three concert series per season and, together with their small ensemble group HarMENy (men in harmony), perform at many community outreach events each year reaching an estimated audience of 20,000. DGMC is a member of GALA Choruses, an LGBTQ choral organization made up of over 180 choruses and 10,000 singers worldwide dedicated to continued support of LGBTQ choral music programs.

We rely on the generous support of people like you to help make the magic happen and to change lives. If you’ve left a concert moved, if you’ve danced in the aisles, if you’ve sung your heart out, if you’ve been inspired by our community outreach, or if your loved one has broken boundaries to stand on that stage, then consider making a contribution. Donations can be made online, by phone, by mail, or in person, and could be in the form of a:
One off donation
Donation in honor of someone special, or
Recurring donation. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Donations are 100% tax deductible as allowed by state and federal law (please consult your tax advisor).
You can make your gift go even further if your company participates in a donation matching program. Contact your HR department about your company’s program and let us know if you need any specific information.
The Chorus has been successful in engaging local businesses through Corporate Partnerships and Season Advertising that allow businesses creative and meaningful access to DMGMC's estimated 20,000 annual attendees at concerts and events.
Sing with us!
Although people join DMGMC for many reasons, the organization’s primary focus is music. As a gay men’s chorus, DMGMC has a unique opportunity to represent the gay community and to highlight the gifts and skills of gay musicians. Music touches hearts in ways words alone never will. By being a part of DMGMC, you set yourself apart as a proud example to others who may not have positive gay role models. The Chorus is comprised entirely of volunteer singers and membership is open to all. The small ensemble group, HarMENy, is open by audition.
